PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Applications Developer is a solutions-oriented and automation focused position that works with business units to identify opportunities and provide programming solutions. This position serves as the technical liaison between IT Analysts, Digital Banking, and other business areas as a member of the Core Systems team to drive innovation for the enterprise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The position’s essential duties include the following:
- Meet with business units to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for automation
- Build integrations between disparate business applications to automate reporting, data exchange, and other business processes
- Develop member-facing products and services through the credit union’s digital banking platform’s SDK
- Develops programs using approved programming languages
- Researches and implements new programming technologies, when appropriate
- Prepares application software procedures and documentation for usage, operation, backup and recovery, and process automation
- In cooperation with the end user, tests application software to assure accuracy, integrity, interoperability and completeness to achieve desired results
- Adheres to department policies, procedures, and standards in the development and implementation of software.
- Follows established change, configuration and release management processes when deploying new applications, changes to applications or system updates.
- Implement high quality application software in a timely manner
- Develops information systems, programs, interfaces, process automation and job processing following SDLC and industry standard design principles.
- Tracks and resolves reported system problems within established service level agreements.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
- Strong knowledge of bank/credit union industry
LENGTH OF REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 5-7 years of programming experience
- .NET and PowerOn/SymXchange programming experience preferred
- Experience using programming languages such as HTML, Javascript/JQuery, Angular JS, Bootstrap, C#, and Python
- Additional experience preferred with technologies such as Symitar, GitLab, SQL Server, .NET / Visual Studio, JSON, and XML
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires the ability to sit at a desk and computer for extended periods of time and must be able to lift 25 pounds.
- Minimal noise level in a fast-paced open office environment with light traffic
