Our Cadre5 Lab Partners division has partnered with Information Technology Services Doctorate (ITSD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) to recruit a qualified Application Developer.
ORNL delivers scientific discoveries and technical breakthroughs needed to realize solutions in energy and national security and provides economic benefit to the nation. This premier research institution located near Knoxville in Oak Ridge, TN, addresses national needs through impactful research and world-leading research centers.
This is a full-time, permanent position that will consider telecommute, but hybrid is preferred.

Job Responsibilities:
- Provide development and programming support for the Documentum application using JavaScript/Java Rhino scripting platform.
- Experience pulling and pushing data via REST API components.
- Ability to troubleshoot JavaScript code and errors, produce better quality code, and ensure business rules are being strictly enforced in the application.
- Improve the quality of system notifications, user-based error messages, and application logging via script.
- Maintain application data via Microsoft SQL Server. Duties include developing SQL routines and queries to identify patterns or issues with data and implement effective and repeatable query updates to resolve data quality issues.
- Ensure security profiles are strictly enforced for all documents and records in the system via script.
- Identify and recommend continuous improvements to application processes and workflows.
- Troubleshoot software problems and provide resolution to issues. Duties include ability to perform advanced debugging and/or other troubleshooting techniques to correctly diagnose and determine the cause of a software issue.
- Ensure application documentation remains up-to-date and follows Software Quality Assurance policies and procedures. Ensure software configuration changes are appropriately documented and tracked in ServiceNow change management system.
- Test scripting changes and ensure application releases are delivered without error. Duties include ability to test features, functions, and workflows of the application, and the ability to write documentation and test plans.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer information systems, or related technical/science degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in:
- Advanced JavaScript and/or Java Rhino scripting experience is required.
- Ability to write REST API calls and manage data imports/exports is required.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server databases is required. Candidate must have the ability to write queries, improve table performance, and offer improvements to resolve data challenges.
- Formalized application development and debugging techniques.
- Familiarity with Angular and/or VueJS.
- Experience with web-based applications residing on Windows server platforms hosted via Apache.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance is required. This requires US Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Willingness/desire to learn and keep up with new and emerging technologies, develop and maintain software, and support a complex enterprise application with multiple deployments.
- Highly motivated, self-starter who is comfortable working as part of a team (in any capacity) or as an independent contributor.
- Strong customer focus and excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Highly organized, able to handle complex tasks, and provide expert support.
- Experience with API integration of SAP people/organization data.
- Experience with application security architectures, including groups and users.
- Experience with MS SQL Server (2016 or later).
- Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio, VS Code, and Azure Business Intelligence.
- Willingness to learn Intellidox Meta Language, Data Query Language (DQL), and administration of the OpenText Content Server platform.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs.
