JOB TITLE: AP Manager
REPORTS TO: Corporate Controller
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounts Payable Manager will maintain and support activities pertaining to payables for the company’s core and ancillary businesses in a rapidly growing environment. They will lead and coach the accounts payable team through continuous improvement, direct the processing of invoices and payments, and manage expense accounts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review invoices processed by the AP team to ensure an accurate weekly P&L is produced for management.
- Optimize expenditures to ensure best practice in procuring goods and services.
- Review expenses for potential savings opportunities from purchasing power across multiple companies.
- Make payments in a timely manner and take advantage of early pay discounts where possible.
- Extend payment terms with vendors, and switch vendors paying via check to ACH.
- Maintain vendor wire and ACH templates on the bank portal and create positive pay uploads for checks.
- Document the purchase to pay process, identify controls and areas of risk and in need of improvement.
- Oversee vendor onboarding and improve vendor relations by ensuring accounts are reconciled, and questions and issues are resolved in a timely and professional manner.
- Coach a team of 3 accounts payable specialists, ensuring proper cross-training and professional development.
- Work with the Director of Finance to improve cash outflow forecasting accuracy.
- Assist the Corporate Controller in building KPI and other payables reporting, and dashboards.
- Ensure proper maintenance, filing, and storage of records for audits.
- Research and assist in implementation of AP automation and payables workflow in Microsoft NAV.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and assist in special projects.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable, finance or accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (NAV) preferred.
- Experience with the Microsoft office suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
