Comprehensive benefit package (health care, vacation, etc.) FLSA: Exempt Temporary/Continuing: Continuing Part-Time/Full-Time: Full-Time Union Group: N/A Term of Position: 12 Month At Will/Just Cause: Just Cause Summary of Position: The Annual Giving Philanthropy Officer will support the Ferris Foundation and Advancement team in University Advancement and Marketing to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward a targeted portfolio of Annual Giving prospects. The ability to achieve success will be realized through strong internal partnerships as well as working with alumni, donors and friends of the university to help support Ferris's commitment to student success in the achievement of a strong education by forging meaningful philanthropic relationships. Position Type: Staff Required Education: Bachelor's degree Required Work Experience: 2 - 4 years of professional experience involving cultivation, stewardship and fundraising, or a combination of education and experience. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Manage a personal portfolio of donors and prospects (Annual Giving leadership level) which helps to maintain a pipeline of philanthropic support helping to grow the Fund for Ferris and other key university initiatives.
Works in collaboration with the Alumni Relations, Annual Giving and Advancement Communication staff to increase philanthropic support for Annual Giving initiatives such as Giving Tuesday and One Day for Dawgs (Day of Giving) to secure lead and matching gifts.
Must be comfortable creating team-supportive structures such as prospect list and portfolio management, data accuracy, and serve as a second resource of support and guidance for Ferris fundraisers/key university initiatives.
Research and incorporate ongoing annual fund best practices to help develop new and creative strategies to increase support.
Reports directly to the Associate Vice President for Advancement and works in conjunction with the Executive Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members.
