Advertised Salary: $50,000 to $55,000, plus comprehensive benefit package (health care, vacation, etc.) FLSA: Exempt Temporary/Continuing: Continuing Part-Time/Full-Time: Full-Time Union Group: N/A Term of Position: 12 Month At Will/Just Cause: Just Cause Summary of Position: The Manager of AlumniRelations and Annual Giving Operations will oversee the daily actions of both the world of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving to strengthen, develop and maintain relationships between the university and former students, donors and friends of the institute. This relationship building position is responsible for the continued growth of the alumni association and Annual fund through events, programs and communication platforms. Position Type: Staff Required Education: Bachelor's degree Required Work Experience: 2 to 4 years of professional experience involving cultivation, stewardship and/or exemplary customer service as well as project management/logistics and/or event management. 1. Experience as a registered student organization advisor or executive board member.
2. Supervisory experience, preferably in a university environment.
3. Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience with volunteer development, management, and oversight.
4. Strong interpersonal, team and leadership skills; tact and flexibility in working with diverse populations.
5. Ability to multi-task competing priorities, interruptions, and inquiries with a high level of professionalism and tolerance for ambiguity. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Works with the Executive Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving to oversee and manage the daily operations of the Alumni Relations and Annual Giving programs which includes events, volunteer management and the calendar of communications.
As a valued member of the Alumni Association the Manager of AlumniRelations and Annual Giving Operations oversees and executes signature alumni programing including but not limited to Homecoming festivities, reunions and awards events, golf outings, regional gatherings, graduation fairs and collaborative alumni activities with colleges and/or departments.
Oversee and increase volunteer participation in both the Bulldog Ambassador and Student Alumni Gold Club programs. The enrichment of growing volunteer based programing strengthens the relationship between future alumni leaders and continued alumni engagement liaisons that assist the Alumni Association with area events, giving, student recruitment, student retention and overall alumni pride.
Work in collaboration with the Annual Giving Manager to oversee and execute the calendar of Annual Giving solicitation, programs and events including Giving Tuesday and One Day for Dawgs/Annual Day of Giving.
Responsible, in collaboration with the Advancement Communications Specialist and News Services/Social Media team for creating a calendar of activity to maintain Alumni Relations and Annual Giving messaging which enhances all engagement as it pertains to events, programs and philanthropic support.
Evaluate the effectiveness of Alumni and donor outreach activities on a yearly basis, track data, monitor goals and benchmarks of engagement and develop reports for campus and university leaders.
Supervise assigned staff, volunteers and students as necessary.
Build and maintain relationships with campus partners, maintaining a high level of communication and service while also demonstrating an understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion among students, faculty and community members.
Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members.
Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. Marginal Duties/Responsibilities: Serve on various University and community committees as assigned. Skills and Abilities: Develop and maintain impactful relationships with alumni, friends, media representatives, donors and prospective donors of the university.
Communicate ideas and concepts clearly, efficiently and effectively both orally and in writing.
Work independently and as part of cooperative management team.
Develop and manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
Ability to set-up and tear down staging, decorations, signs/banners, and various promotional items that support all types of events and activities.
Oversee projects with detail for budgets, deadlines, special events and services.
Examine, evaluate and propose changes and enhancements to policy and procedures.
Demonstrate commitment, experience and understanding for diversity, equity and inclusion.
