Single woman living on a sprawling farm in Upperville, VA is looking to hire an Animal Loving House Manager/Personal Assistantfor her farm and personal life. This unique position involves a combination of administrative tasks, project management, and hands-on assistance in maintaining the property.
You must have a genuine love for animals, have prior experience working with horses, and not mind getting dirty. It's a 350 acre farm with horses, donkeys, a zebra, mini ponies, goats, etc.A calm person with a good sense of humor is a must. Owner has full time help on the property to manage the farm and horses. However you must be comfortable assisting with the horses when needed.
Responsibilities:
Organizational Guru:
- Coordinate and manage various projects on the property.
- Consolidate belongings from the sale of 2 homes.
- Maintain supply inventory and ordering.
- Assist in organizing the owner's life and schedule.
- Run errands efficiently, ensuring timely completion.
Farm Assistance:
- Work closely with 3 individuals who are responsible for farm maintenance and care of 60 horses.
- Aid in horse care whenneeded and directed by the owner.
- Comfortablyinteract and help care for various animals on the farm, including horses, zebras, goats, etc.
Handyman Skills:
- Possess basic handyman skills to address minor repairs on the property.
- Coordinate with professionals for tasks beyond your expertise.
On-site Assistance:
- Be available to help out on the farm when required.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness in problem-solving.
Accommodation and Travel:
- Live on the property, initially in the owner's house and later in a dedicated cabin.
- Ability to travel to Florida as needed.
Project Management:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Make and answer phone calls, handle scheduling, and keep the owner organized.
Personality Traits:
- Maintain a calm and composed demeanor (Type B personality).
- Act as a stabilizing force for the owner, offering support and assistance.
Requirements:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Comfortable around a variety of animals and willing to assist with their care.
- Prior experience interacting with horses and theircare.
- Basic handyman skills and the ability to troubleshoot.
- Flexibility to assist with farm tasks when necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel and manage projects in different locations.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year.
