Animal Care Attendant

Urgent Care Vet Panama City is an after-hours animal hospital that is more affordable than a veterinary emergency room. We offer veterinary services for non-life-threatening illnesses every evening, all weekends, and all holidays. Clients may have their pets treated from 6pm-10pm Monday through Friday and Saturday through Sunday 2pm until 10pm; hours are the same on holidays.

We are looking for dependable, capable animal loving candidates to fill our positions for an Animal Care Attendant at Urgent Care Vet in Panama City, for animals that have been seen in the clinic and yet need to stay overnight or during the day for care and observation. You will be responsible for the care of our medical boarding pets, observing their behavior and monitoring their well-being. The care of the animals includes feeding, watering, cleaning, and maintaining their environment with a daily routine of cleaning and sanitizing the pet kennels, cages and areas in and around them. Be familiar with clinic’s cleaning products, including their safe handling and proper use.

You will also be responsible for updating clients on the welfare of their pets, stocking supplies, along with some general housekeeping.

Animal Care Attendants must have sufficient physical strength, mobility and stamina to lift and/or move heavy pets and objects, along with the dexterity and confidence to handle pets.

On the Job Animal Care Attendant, training will be provided as needed.

- Provide daily care and attention to animals in a professional and compassionate manner
- Feed, water, and clean animal enclosures on a regular schedule
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff
- Monitor animals for any signs of illness or distress and report concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Assist with animal handling, including walking dogs, restraining animals for procedures, and transferring animals between enclosures
- Perform basic grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
- Maintain accurate records of Animal Care, including feeding schedules, medication administration, and any observed changes in behavior or health

- General housekeeping of hospital according to specified standards

Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with animals in a professional setting preferred
- Knowledge of animal behavior, basic veterinary care, and proper handling techniques
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions from supervisors
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with a team

Day Time Animal Care Attendant – Monday through Friday – 10.00am to 5.00pm

Morning Animal Care Attendant- Sunday through Saturday 6:00am to 11:00am

Overnight Animal Care Attendant – Friday, Saturday and Sunday – 12.00am to 8.00am
