Animal Care Assistant For Non-Profit Animal Sanctuary

This position requires a MAJOR COMMITMENT, it is challenging and demanding, but it is incredibly REWARDING and we are willing to teach someone who is truly dedicated.

You must be able to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team as well as be able to work independently without supervision.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Daily cleaning, feeding & care of cats & barnyard animals.
• Administer medications as directed, including shots and subcutaneous fluids.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
• Organizing and maintaining lists of supplies, medications, food, etc.
• Daily cleaning to ensure a sanitary and safe environment.
• Able to prioritize tasks and have great time management.
• Special projects as assigned.
• Have the ability to monitor animals and report any concerns to supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

• You must love animals, especially cats (previous rescue experience is a plus) and be very comfortable with handling, restraining, giving medications, subq fluids, etc. as you will be feeding, grooming, cleaning and in charge of their daily care.
• Impeccable organizational, communication, multi-tasking skills, ability to work independently, be proactive, have a great attitude and be able to show initiative
• No exceptions!! You MUST have your own reliable transportation with insurance
• Must live locally and be available in emergencies.
• Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
• Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, concisely and quickly is a priority.
