ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary function of the Anesthesia Technician is to assist the licensed anesthesia provider(s) with functions related to the care and monitoring of patients and equipment. Responsibilities include:
• Assists anesthesia providers with patient assessment, monitoring, transport, positioning, insertion of intravenous and other invasive lines, and airway management.
• Performs setup of sterile blocks for total joint patients; assists physician with blocks including ultrasound setup, dressing block area, clean-up, disposal of sharps, etc.
• Maintains an adequate inventory of necessary equipment and supplies; orders all non-stock Anesthesia products
• Checks stock supplies and drugs for expiration dates.
• Cleans and maintains emergency carts (airway, epidural, trauma, peds, L&D & specialty).
• Maintains drug par levels and supplies for assigned area.
• Prepares IV fluids for all cases.
• Provides daily maintenance of equipment and troubleshoots malfunctions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
