This opportunity entails being responsible for providing engineering inventories and inspections of Ancillary Structures, determine condition ratings of the structures with accuracy and consistency, and produce reports using various technologies and applications.
This opportunity entails being responsible for providing daily inspection of inventories and inspections of Ancillary Structures, determine condition ratings of the structures with accuracy and consistency, and produce reports using various technologies and applications. This position is a lead role that will direct, mentor and train developing staff. The Team Leader leverages technical knowledge and experience to oversee daily work and address inspection issues or concerns.
What You'll Do:
- Responsible for the planning and distribution of work for the inspection team. Leads and performs inspections, observation, documentation, and verification of work in progress by the team and construction contractor to ensure compliance with project schedule, contract documents and plans. Confirms procedures are followed, and the material used conforms to specifications.
- Provides guidance to inspectors or advises Contractor superintendent of necessary actions to ensure conformance with plan, specs, and contract. Reviews and resolves quantity disputes with contractors.
- Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform and oversee sophisticated and complicated mathematical calculations, constructability and biddability reviews, and measurements of completed work to date.
- Reviews Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contactor labor and equipment, the quantity of material received and verified.
- Performs on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches as needed.
- Provides input on recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of staff, including developing a plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.
- Responsible for coordinating schedules and approving timecards.
- Aids in establishing employees' objectives and provides feedback from clients while coaching and mentoring their team.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 9 years of construction-related experience
- All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.
What We Prefer:
- National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level IV.
