JOB TITLE: Analytical Development Scientist I

DUTIES: Perform a variety of well-defined, supportive functions including designing and performing analytical procedures and established SOPS. Support the goals and timelines for the Analytical Development team through timely completion of assay development projects, demonstrating excellent documentation skills, and ensuring the highest quality data is generated from lab experiments. Rapidly incorporate and adapt longstanding methods to the most recent FDA guidelines. Execute analytic strategy for release and characterization of AAV gene therapy vectors, efficiently and independently. Generate hypotheses and creative solutions to pursue Project goals, set new experimental directions, and overcome obstacles. Provide technical recommendations broadly within the company regarding own field and play a key Project Role.
REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Master’s Degree, or foreign equivalent, in Molecular Biology, Engineering, or related field and 60 months of experience in the job offered or in an Analytical Development Scientist I-related occupation.
Employer will also accept a Ph.D., or foreign equivalent, in Molecular Biology, Engineering, or a related field and 24 months of experience in the job offered or in an Analytical Development Scientist I-related occupation.
Position requires demonstrated experience in the following:
- Reliable and consistent technical skills on relevant Gene therapy analytical assay platforms including:
- Capsid Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA),
- Bio-layer Interferometry (BLI) Octet,
- Dynamic light scattering (DLS) Stunner,
- Droplet digital polymerase chain reaction (ddPCR) viral titer and residual detection,
- Cell culture, and
- Cell-based potency assays.
- Ability to independently record in ELN experimental execution and results to support IND generation;
- Modifying experimental designs and protocols to enable experimental and/or methodological optimization;
- Knowledge and understanding of cell maintenance, adeno-associated virus (AAV) characterization, and protein biophysical property;
- Wet lab;
- Contributing to CMC strategy; and
- Advanced judgment balancing technical feasibility, opportunity, and impact.
