Job Description
Job Summary:
The Credit Analyst is responsible for customer collection and credit decision efforts across all businesses on shared customers and daily credit decisions related to the release of blocked orders within guidelines set by the Credit Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Evaluates creditworthiness of customers through financial statement analysis, payment history review and other sources of market and financial information.
- Evaluates terms of sale and changes to terms of sale for customers based on analysis of risk, pay history and other market concerns/opportunities. Recommends changes and communicates concerns to Credit Manager.
- Oversees and develops the relationship with the 3rd party collection vendor.
- Oversees assignments and updates the credit limits of customers based upon the findings of the credit review process.
- Collects customers receivables in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborates with business teams to communicate customer condition and risk.
- Supports risk mitigation activities and ensures consistent collection efforts through customer follow up and relevant reporting. Makes risk decisions, within guidelines, on blocked orders.
- Works with customer service representatives and internal commercial teams to identify process improvement and efficiency opportunities.
- Other projects/duties as assigned or needed. Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Experience with SAP system is required.
- Prior distribution industry experience is an advantage but not essential.
- Minimal travel required but some will be necessary in the initial learning period.
- Microsoft Excel experience is required.
- Previous experience as a credit analyst preferred.
Physical Requirements & Work Setting:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
