There is currently one (1) vacancy at the Martinez Health Center and Miller Wellness Clinic, which are both located in Martinez, CA. You will be required to occasionally travel to other locations within Contra Costa County.
The Ambulatory Care Clinic Coordinator plans, manages and coordinates the day-to-day administrative support activities at the assigned Health Center. They are also responsible for overseeing employee and facility safety, and equipment maintenance; and performs related work as required.
Contra Costa Health provides quality outpatient health care services to our community, especially to vulnerable populations.
Our nine Ambulatory Care health centers offer a variety of patient-centered medical services to people with Medi-Cal and Contra Costa Health Plan members in convenient locations across the county. Services include:
  • Primary Care for People of All Ages
  • Geriatrics Care
  • Immunizations
  • Prenatal Care & Gynecology
  • Gender Clinic for Transgender & Non-Binary People
  • Laboratory Services

We are looking for someone who:
  • has direct experience coordinating general administrative support activities in a healthcare setting

What you will typically be responsible for:
  • Coordinating essential clerical activities at the various County mental health clinics
  • Ensuring the health center is in compliance with the Joint Commission environment of care standards, OSHA, ADA, building fire codes while developing corrective action plans as necessary
  • Investigating and performing follow ups on safety event reporting, and ensuring mandatory trainings are completed by health center staff
  • Providing safety orientations for new employees, and investigating patient complaints
  • Preparing reports, and acting as a safety coordinator for clinic, and building warden
  • Participating in capital improvement projects, and facility site visits from regulatory agencies
  • Providing and promoting excellent customer service
  • Making recommendations regarding clinic services, scheduling of activities and improved facility utilization

The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Possession of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency, or high school proficiency certificate.
Experience:Four (4) years of full-time experience performing administrative support duties in an acute care hospital, outpatient clinic, health services agency, or mental health program, at least two (2) years of which were in a supervisory capacity.
Substitution: Possession of a Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Health Care Administration, Public Health Administration, Business Administration or Public Administration may be substituted for one (1) year of full-time administrative support experience.
Selection Process
  1. Application Filing and Evaluation: All applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application. Applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.
  2. Virtual Oral Interview: Candidates who possess the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in an online video assessment. The assessment will measure candidates' competencies as they relate to the job. In the assessment, candidates must achieve an average passing score of 70% or higher on each of the competencies, as well as an overall passing score of 70% or higher. These may include but are not limited to: Building & Maintaining Relationships, Delivering Results, Involving Others (Engaging Teams), Professional Integrity & Ethics, and Thinking & Acting Systematically. (Weighted 100%).

Tentative Exam Dates
Online Oral Interview: March 28 - April 1, 2024
The virtual oral interview will be administered remotely using a computer or mobile device such as a tablet or smartphone. You will need access to a reliable internet connection to take the assessment, as well as a computer or mobile device with a camera.
