Join the Charles M. Schulz - Sonoma County Airport (STS) Management Team!
The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for managing multiple functions at the Sonoma County Airport, including hangar leases and non-commercial tenant relations, daily accounts receivable deposits and related reports, and monthly Aviation Commission meetings. They will also oversee noise reporting and data management, and assists with other special projects as needed. The Administrative Coordinator provides a high level of customer service to a diverse employee group and the general public, performs high volume and detailed work with accuracy, and adapts to constantly changing requirements and processes. Additional responsibilities include:
  • Assisting Airport Management with the oversight of the day-to-day airport administration functions.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and executing policies, programs, and procedures to enhance the efficiency of airport administration.
  • Assisting with assuring airport compliance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Transportation (DOT), State of California, and other federal and local authorities as required
  • Working cooperatively with FAA, Aiport Traffic Control Towers (ATCT), Transporation Security Administration (TSA), consultants, contractors, airport tenants, and airline management to maximize the airport experience and services provided to the traveling public.
  • Assisting in the development of internal policies and procedures.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience preparing, reviewing, and editing complex and detailed internal and public documents

  • High proficiency in the use of current Microsoft Office suite applications, specifically Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
STS is the only local airport that offers air service directly into the North Bay region. As a commercial service airport, STS supports up to 21 flights per day, with facilities for airline passenger services, cargo, private and corporate flights, recreational aircraft, law enforcement, emergency medical service, search and rescue, firefighting aircraft, and pilot training. This recruitment is being conducted to fill an Airport Administrative Coordinator position. This employment list may also be used to fill future full-time, part-time, or extra-help (temporary) positions as they occur during the active status of the list. Education: Any combination of course work and training that would provide an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, academic course work in public administration, business administration, management, accounting, political science, economics, statistics, English composition, psychology or closely related courses would provide such opportunity.
Experience: Work experience that would provide an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, some experience related to general administration, accounting, budgetary analysis, or human resources work including the compilation, tabulation, analysis, and presentation of statistical and narrative written reports would provide such opportunity.
License: Possession of a valid driver's license at the appropriate level including special endorsements, as required by the State of California, may be required depending upon assignment to perform the essential job functions of the position.Knowledge of: administrative techniques and principles of organization, accounting, budget and human resources administration; techniques and practices of research methodology, data collection, and preliminary analysis; report writing; application and use of basic statistics; interview techniques sufficient to obtain information related to employment and administrative matters; written and oral communications, including language mechanics, syntax and English composition; modern office methods and procedures; database, spreadsheet and word processing applications including basic methods of graphic presentations.
Ability to: collect, compile and analyze qualitative and quantitative data; understand and explain laws, regulations and policies governing program operations; communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, employees, clients, and the public; understand program objectives in relation to departmental goals and procedures; organize and prioritize work assignments; use and understand common database, spreadsheet and word processing applications; learn specialized computer applications.

The selection procedure will consist of the following examination:
