UnspecifiedCollins Aerospace is looking for a Aircraft Repair Mechanic to work to support Aftermarket, the nacelle components. You will be working for the Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) group.
*This position is based on-site at our Chula Vista, CA facility and will be part of the IAM Local 755 Union.
Primary Responsibilities
- Follow the sequence of operations in written form by determining the methodology and procedures for manufacturing research, development and mock-up projects, temporary and permanent metallic (hard) form tools
- Perform layout and development of templates, developmental and experimental devices and mechanisms and complete mock-ups
- Use overhead crane to perform duties as required
- Resolve fit, fair and attachment discrepancies of production and prototype hardware using portable power tools and machinery.
- Locate, route, assemble, install and functionally check aircraft power package components and related structural components.
- Perform functional and continuity checks.
- Incorporates engineering changes or out-of-station items in assemblies and/or installations.
- Maintain good shop practices.
- Support improvement processes necessary to meet company and customer requirements.
- Employees working on FAA repair station parts will be in a drug pool.
Qualifications/Experience Required
- AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR HS diploma, GED and 6 years of relevant experience is required.
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

- Experience reading and interpreting Service Bulletin (SB), Components Maintenance Manual (CMM), Airworthiness Directive (AD), and blueprint/specifications.
- Experience working on safety sensitive parts
Qualifications/Experience Preferred
- A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) certification
- Forklift experience and/or certified
- Crane certified
- Torque and seal certification
