Job description

We operate over 150 dedicated cargo aircraft, including the Saab 340B, Embraer 120, Fairchild SA227, Beechcraft 1900, and Beechcraft 99 from bases across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

Basic Duties

  • Help installation, maintenance, and repair workers in maintenance, parts replacement, and repair of aircraft
  • Adjust and connect or disconnects wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand tools or power tools
  • Perform duties, such as furnishing tools and supplies to other workers; cleaning work area, machines, and tools; and holding materials or tools for workers
  • Assemble and disassemble machinery, equipment, components, and parts
  • Clean or lubricate machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects, power tools and cleaning equipment
  • Help mechanics maintain and repair vehicles, industrial machinery, and electrical equipment
  • Position vehicles, machinery, equipment, physical structures and other objects, for assembly or installation, hand tools, power tools, and moving equipment
  • Assist with preheating, launch and recovery, servicing, and fluids
  • Towing of aircraft

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance
  • Requires the ability to understand and retain information provided verbally and written
  • Requires knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Must be a current student enrolled in accredited Aviation Maintenance Program for Airframe & Powerplant Certification

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to manipulate objects, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks
  • Ameriflight is an E-Verify participant
  • Work Environment
  • May work outdoors, in weather as necessary
  • May work near moving aircraft and machinery
  • May work in a potentially noisy work environment
