- Screen prospective agencies and assist with application and mutual agreements between The Foodbank and partner agencies ensuring compliance with Foodbank policies and Feeding America’s standards.
- Conduct initial on-site visits and assist in the orientation of new agencies to Foodbank ordering procedures, picking up products, etc.
- Conduct ongoing site monitors while ensuring compliance with all documentation requirements and maintain agency files in prescribed methods approved by Feeding America.
- Assist agencies in the development and implementation of corrective actions when found to be operating in violation of Foodbank policy, Feeding America standards, or Internal Revenue Service Guidelines on the handling of donated products.
- Develop and identify potential agencies in the service area that could benefit from a relationship with the Foodbank.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of service-area-wide agency recruitment/retention program.
- Identify and provide helpful information to the partner agency network from various sources regarding SHFB products, policy or schedule changes, and community-based events related to poverty issues.
- Assist in the implementation of a partner network gap analysis and capacity measurement tool for partner agencies, including agency surveys.
- Assist agencies to identify what services, standards, and training they want from SHFB.
- Assist in the appropriate Foodbank implementation of partner agency-driven changes.
- Foster cooperative relationships between agencies and SHFB.
- Educate agencies on food safety, best practices, and the latest food recall procedures.
- Assist with strategies for partner agencies to assure equitable access to Foodbank products throughout the service area.
- Work closely with the Operations team to develop positive relationships and understand the varied needs of partner agencies.
- Assist in the assessment and implementation of alternative distribution methods to enhance efficiencies and product diversity for partner agencies.
- Educate agencies on SHFB and Feeding America rules regarding the use of donated products in compliance with IRS Tax Code 170e3 and other state and federal tax laws.
- Implement procedures to address product misuse; including bartering and selling of donated products.
- Assist in the implementation of the Mobile Pantry program or other models focused on Foodbank direct distribution to people in need.
- Assist in the development and implementation of agency meetings across the entire service area to foster understanding of SHFB; enhance cooperation between local agencies and improve services to low-income people.
- Under the guidance of the Agency Relations Manager, work toward strategic plan goals of helping the food insecure gain improved access to services and food.
- Assist local community leaders to assess and develop strategies to improve their supplies of food.
- Represent SHFB at meetings as needed.
- Assist in keeping a current list of food distribution sites, including hours and days of operation, contact person, location, special circumstances, etc.
- With assistance, implement procedures to terminate Foodbank relationship with non-compliant agencies.
- Assist agencies in maintaining the most current resource information possible to assist emergency food recipients.
- Provide data collection and analysis to assist in the preparation of Foodbank grants.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work well with other staff and to relate well to donors and agency representatives. Speak to donors and clients with poise, voice control, and confidence, imparting information in a clear and understanding manner.
- Familiarity with Southeast North Carolina.
- Possession of a valid North Carolina Class A driver’s license
- Proven ability to work steadily and independently with minimum supervision and to follow standardized written procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records. Add, subtract, multiply and divide units of weight successfully. Write reports and record transactions with proper format and legibility.
- The employee must be able to work well with a variety of groups of people from diverse backgrounds.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks to complete work on time are essential to this job.
The employee must have a valid Class C Driver's License and a good driving record.
