Pratt & Whitney's Aftermarket Operations (AMO) division within North Berwick, Maine is working to once again transform the future of flight—designing, building and servicing engines unlike any the world has ever seen. We are seeking a highly qualified Manufacturing Engineer to help transform the business as we prepare for unprecedented growth on the new Geared Turbo Fan (GTF) and F135 programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpretation of approved technical data such as Engine and Standard Practices Manuals, for both military and commercial engines, which will flow down into process work instructions.
  • Develop, modify and maintain ASI’s (Aftermarket Services Instructions), which includes editing CAPP II & Solumina work instructions.
  • Review tool designs, mark-up prints, issue request forms, track tool changes and corrections.
  • Perform the necessary process try-out tasks including set-ups, first piece runs, process development and gage correlations.
  • Support and assist in (Turn Around Time) TAT reductions, On-Time Delivery and Sales and (Earnings Before Interest and Taxes) EBIT Goals.
  • Review Engineering Hold items on a daily basis and determine proper course of action.
  • Develop new equipment, process and troubleshoot problem operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering / Industrial Engineering and 2+ years of engineering experience or Advanced Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The position requires candidates to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the application of continuous improvement tools:  process certification, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Six Sigma, and set-up reduction are examples of the continuous improvement skills required.
  • FAA repairman certification desired
  • Experience and knowledge of machining and assembly processes, including tool application. 
  • NX or prior drafting experience desired
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
