TITLE: TITANS After School ProgramGate Attendant

DEPARTMENT: TITANS After School Program

REPORTS TO: ASSISTANT LEAD, ASSISTANT COORDINATOR, SITE COORDINATOR, LEAD COORDINATOR, PROGRAM COORDINATOR AND PROGRAM DIRECTOR

CLASSIFICATION: PART-TIME

HOURS: 20 HOURS PER WEEK: Monday - Friday 2:45 p.m. - 6:30 pm / Thursdays from 12:30 - 6:30 pm

SALARY: $17.75 - $18.25 an hour

LOCATION: BUENA PARK

PAY STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

POSITION SUMMARY:

Titans Gate Attendants work at assigned school sites to help greet parents of participating students in the After School Programs and also conduct sign out for every student present at the After School Programs on a daily basis.

Gate Attendants are responsible to check identification for all guardians picking up students from After School Programs on a daily basis.

The Gate Attendants are responsible for obtaining all signatures of guardians picking up students from After School Programs at the school site they are placed at and must obtain the proper documentation that is needed from the guardian in order to sign out students from the After School Programs on a daily basis.

Gate Attendants are also responsible for safeguarding all sensitive material that have student and parent information, and must have a visual watch over this material and files at all times.

Gate Attendants are responsible to return all sensitive files to the correct supervisor of the After School Programs at their school site at the end of each day.

Gate Attendants are also responsible to communicate any messages to participating students’ guardians that have been directed to them to communicate on a daily basis.

Gate Attendants must also be responsible to effectively communicate any messages that participating students guardians want conveyed to the program staff on a daily basis.

Gate attendants are responsible to set up and take down their sign out stations at the designated areas on school grounds on a daily basis.

Gate attendants will work outside 100% of the time to conduct sign out for all After School Programs.

Gate attendants must communicate to After School Program staff by using walkie talkies at all times.

Gate attendants must not permit any parent, non-faculty member, or non-After School Program staff on school campuses beyond the gated area.

Gate attendants also serve as security for the After School Programs and must follow all emergency protocols in the event an incident does occur.

Gate attendants must show up to work and conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Gate attendants must have great customer service skills and be able to troubleshoot.

Gate attendants are required to be bilingual and have effective professional communication.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

● Must implement all Titans After School Program rules and procedures.

Must be able to speak Spanish fluently.

● Work collaboratively with staff members at site.

● Ensures the students receive constant supervision and provides a safe and supported environment at all times.

● May be asked to stay past scheduled time when students are picked up past normal check-out time.

● Must display professionalism at all times.

● Responsible for supporting their supervisor by following their directions.

● Communicates regularly with the Site Coordinator regarding all aspects of the program at the designated site.

● Responsible for clocking in/out on a daily basis.

OTHER DUTIES:

● Performs other duties that are assigned throughout the year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

● Enthusiastic and highly motivated.

● Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. ​Word, Excel) and Google Drive (i.e. ​Docs, Sheets).

● Must be flexible, team oriented, child focused, and wanting to make a difference in children’s lives.

EDUCATION:

Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Prolonged sitting, walking, talking, hearing, pulling, bending, may carry 10-15 pounds of objects/material, not exposed to extreme noise level, use of hands and fingers, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, taste or smell.
