The Maintenance Advanced Team Leader is responsible for individual and team development, quality performance, cost parameters, and service to customers (internal and external). This individual will work cross functionally with other departments to execute operations initiatives, as well as lead problem solving for area of responsibility and participate in cross functional problem solving. In addition, they will be responsible for a team of union individuals with varying levels of experience and education. This Team Leader will need experience in operations, manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain processes to lead team members through initiative implementation and improving performance.
What You Will Do
Leadership
- Influences and/or directs teams across departments/shifts.
- Works cross functionally to implement capital projects.
- Monitors installation, operations, maintenance, and repair of mechanically functioning equipment as well as electrical systems.
- Provides real time status of floor activities to leadership and cross functional partners as needed.
- Site coordinator for crisis management.
- Sets goals with and for team members to support business and personal development.
- Determines, writes, and executes appropriate performance management action; aligns with Operations Manager and Human Resources.
- Promotes strong cross-functional collaboration.
- Participates in strategic workforce planning.
- Leads changes; delivers and implements effective change management. Holds team accountable for adoption of changes.
Compliance, Regulatory and Safety
- Teaches and coaches team members on adherence to Environmental, Health and Safety guidelines. Takes appropriate corrective action to address issues. Acts as Site Commander.
- Influences safety culture relative safe work practices and company safety and food safety policies. Ensures compliance with polices.
- Understands Process Safety Management/Risk Management Plan (PSM/RMP) and how to respond to issues.
- Identifies safety issues before they occur, proactive hazard recognition.
- Leads employee injury incident investigations and root cause analysis, or near miss/near hit incidents that could result in injury.
Technical Expertise
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Project management.
- Understands the reason behind actions and processes used in functional area.
- Advises internal department leadership on technical issues and provides options for resolution.
- Guides and teaches team members and entry Team Leaders on technical aspects of their function.
- Effectively uses LEAN practices.
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of production, operations or logistics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of military operations and leadership experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of production, operations or logistics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of military operations and leadership experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Successful completion of the Gallo Operations/Technical Management Program.
- 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience; demonstrates team building, leadership and mentoring skills.
- Required to work shifts as scheduled.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering plus 2 years of production, operations or logistics experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR bachelor’s degree in business administration or management plus 5 years of manufacturing operations management, or logistics operations management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience; demonstrates team building, leadership and mentoring skills.
- MBA or master’s degree in engineering.
- 2 years of technical production/operations or technical maintenance experience.
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing practices.
- Consumer Package Goods experience.
Compensation:
- Hiring Salary Range Posted: $81,000.00 -$121,600.000.
- Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
