Duties and Responsibilities:

- Complete the nursing admissions process, including but not limited to: explaining services and related costs, and conducting telephonic/in person intake screenings to assess the client’s situation.
- Deliver the highest quality customer service standards of care and productivity for internal and external clients.
- Review admission referrals and coordinate with navigators to ensure proper placement.
- Triage all incoming clients for intended level of care.
- Call the appropriate team member (e.g. Medical Director) to provide all non-life threatening medical and medication concerns to obtain guidance regarding their plan of action for the client. (In the event of a life-threatening emergency, all staff members are authorized to contact emergency services by dialing 911).
- Identify client care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual clients and in partnership with other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
- Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to clients and families.
- Promote client's independence by establishing client care goals, teaching client to understand condition, medications and self-care requirements, and answering questions.
- Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against client care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse act, and other governing agency regulations.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment in compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations; calling for assistance from health care support personnel as needed.
- Protect clients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Document patient care services by charting in client and department records.
- Maintain interdepartmental continuity of care by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintain client confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
- Maintain nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing orders for supplies.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications.
- Maintain a cooperative relationship among health care team by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem solving methods.
- Follow incident reporting policy and procedure, reporting any potential safety issues in a timely fashion.
- Demonstrate skills of delegation, organization and coordination of assigned services, delegating responsibilities to designated staff as appropriate.
- Function as a role model for nursing staff.
- Provides pertinent communication to the Director of Nursing regarding levels of staff performance. Effectively prioritize communication issues pertaining to all departments and provide collaborative intervention as needed.
- Exercise good judgment and discretion in deviating from policy in circumstances where strict adherence would pose a risk to the patient, visitor, staff or facility.
- Participates in Performance Improvement data collection, analysis, reporting and staff education.
- Assist in providing essential training to the new staff.
- Coordinate with providers and nurses regarding the plan of care to provide the individual treatment needed.
- Regular and consistent attendance is required.
- Other duties as assigned within scope of the position.
- Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Knowledge of mental health, addiction, and addiction treatment preferred.
- Detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment.
- Able to handle confidential information, and manage time wisely.
- Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, electronic medical records applications, etc.

Certifications and Licenses:
- Active RN license in state of operation is required.
- Active BLS certification directly from American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or ability to attain certification within 60 days of hire, and maintain active certification at all times.
