Summary:
The admissions clerk is responsible for the courteous and prompt processing of patients at the waiting area, answering all incoming telephone calls and directing the calls to the appropriate personnel. The admissions clerk will be crossed trained in other functions of the business office. The admissions clerk reports directly to the Business office Manager.
Responsibilities:
*Opening or Closing of ARSC. Hours range from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
* Maintains a presence at the front desk.
* Answers all incoming phone calls.
* Admissions of patients.
* Prints daily surgical notes for OP reports and H&P's.
* Records all pathology reports and scans patient charts.
* Completes all patient charts and registration paperwork.
*Uploads all patient reports into Press Gagney and checks for returned surveys.
* Monitors fax machine and distributes to appropriate personnel.
* Responsible for monitoring security system into the building and admitting personnel, physicians, and vendors into the building.
* Protects patient confidentiality and dignity by keeping discussions of patient's personal information and procedures to a tone discernable only to the patient.
Qualifications:
*High school graduate
*Demonstrated ability to type 454 wpm
*Comprehension of medical terminology
*Minimum one (1) year receptionist experience in an ambulatory surgery facility, acute-care hospital, or doctor's office.
*Must have experience using scheduling software.
*Must have experience with Microsoft Office products.
*Excellent communication skills.
*Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
*Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Must be able to work under pressure.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
