FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) Status: Exempt QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in education (preferred) Valid Ohio Administrator Licensure (preferred) Supervision and Leadership Experience Strong communication skills, both written and oral Experience in writing, editing, and communicating. Successful completion of BCI/FBI background checks Experience with desktop publishing and design skills Ability to collect, summarize, and present information in a clear and concise manner Certification: Driver Education Instructor (preferred/must obtain) Certification: Training Manager (preferred/must obtain) POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under administration direction provides services in public relations and marketing activities.
Writes and edits publications, brochures, and new releases; maintains contracts with local media; and designs and maintains MVESC (Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center) website, and planning and delivery of special focus projects. Oversees all aspects of the driver's education program. Promotes, trains, documents, and provides support for the successful operation of the driver's ed program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following list is not ranked in order of importance.) Keeps current on MVESC services and programming and recommends features for publications Assumes personal responsibility for professional growth and development, keeping current in the latest journalistic style methods and marketing techniques Edits, writes, designs, and publishes special publications Supervises the distribution of all publications. Maintains and updates content for the MVESC website and social media networks Maintains all records for Special Projects (example Drivers Education) Act as a liaison between Special Projects and districts involved Maintains respect for confidential information including salary schedules, reports, employee evaluations and reprimands, employee personnel files, etc. Coordinates and monitors employee performance process Supervises and evaluates driver's education staff Coordinates and organizes files for all aspects of driver's education Communicates with and presents to various organizations and staff Responsibly maintain all student files and recordsMust have technology and problem-solving skills to best assist users OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Follow all directives contained in the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators and board policy.
Perform all other duties as required or requested by the Superintendent or designee. Maintain licensure, practice ethically, and within the law. Participate in MVESC staff activities including professional development of specialized brochures, bulletins, special needs publications and designs.
Provides consultation to MVESC staff for the publication of specialized brochures, bulletins, special needs publications and designs. Be willing to teach classes for Special Projects Maintain professional relationships with all personnel All other duties as assigned ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Typical office, school, and classroom setting.
