Nature of Work
Provide lead administrative support to the Office Director and multiple program managers within the Department of Health's Center for Threat Preparedness. Function as office manager by controlling flow of administrative support efforts within the organization. Participate in strategic planning, program conceptualization, project development, and performance monitoring with professional staff. Coordinate timelines for work assignments and projects across multiple program areas of office. Supervise clerical staff position, conduct HR processes, and delegate work assignments accordingly. Complete or assure completion of administrative processes, such as payroll, invoices, personnel, important correspondence, hospitality, and federal grant applications. Administration and reporting documentation. Assure associated timelines are identified, monitor and advise staff and leadership regarding important deadlines and pertinent information that will affect work output and office efficiency. Provide technical assistance to multiple community partners such as local health department staff, health care systems, and others. Travel with staff to out of office meetings, conferences, training sessions, etc. Participate in response to public health emergencies, including deployment out of office and engagement in incident command activity.
