Duties: The non-negotiable annual salary for this position is $50,924.12 (NAGE Unit 1, Grade 16, Step 1)
Provides administrative assistance and secretarial support to the Executive Director of Administrative Services. This includes but is not limited to answers phones, processes incoming/outgoing mail, as well as collects mail from various locations; sorts, routes and distributes materials to ensure prompt delivery. Maintains accurate filing system. Composes and/or prepares correspondences, forms, and reports, including those of a confidential nature. Maintains the schedule of the Executive Director. Schedules various meetings, records/types/distributes various meeting minutes. Handles the Travel Authorization Forms (TAF) process for the Department of Correction. Maintains Administrative Services staff attendance, supply inventory, and the back-up for reserving the conference room requests. Acts as Policy Coordinator and ACA Coordinator for the Administration Office. Web Editor for the Executive Director of Administrative Services Intranet page. Works in collaboration with various divisions; as well as providing back-up coverage to the Executive Assistant in the Deputy Commissioner of Administration's office with the following tasks: processes Inmate Benefit/Employee Benefit funds authorization forms (IBF/EBF); processes highly confidential Legal judgments/settlements.
Act in a confidential manner on all issues relating to the business of the Department of Correction. Performs other duties as assigned.

This is a Civil Service position. Please note that salaries for union positions are determined according to the provisions of the respective collective bargaining agreement. First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and (A) at least three (3) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in clerical or secretarial work or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below. Substitution: I. An Associate's degree or higher may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
