Main Purpose of the Job:
The Administrative Office Specialist provides administrative and secretarial support to the Director/Investigative Counsel, all Assistant Investigative Counsels, the Executive Counsel, the Commission on Judicial Disabilities, and the Judicial Inquiry Board, and plays an integral role in coordinating the day-to-day operations of the office. The incumbent also acts as the initial agency contact with judges, attorneys, media, and the general public.
Education: High school diploma (or GED equivalent).
Experience: Three (3) years of work experience providing secretarial, clerical, or administrative work involving the use of a personal computer and word processing software.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
Knowledge of legal terminology, judicial conduct rules and disciplinary process.
Knowledge of accounting and budgetary principles and formulas.
Skill in managing priorities to meet critical deadlines while multitasking.
Skill in interpersonal communication and relations.
Skill in customer service and handling problems tactfully and patiently.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with appropriate discretion.
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals who contact the office.
Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and prioritize work.
Ability to manage responsibilities with efficiency and attention to detail.
