Job description

Works on a regular and predictable schedule.
Under the supervision of the Radiation Registration Branch Manager, provides administrative and semi-technical support for the Medical and Industrial X-ray, and Laser registration program reviewers and manager. Enters and updates information into the Versa database system. Identifies and solicits unregistered facilities. Answers phones and emails and responds to inquiries verbally and in writing providing information concerning radiation rules, regulations, policies, and application procedures. Prepares letters, composes, and revises forms and letters. Uses Excel, Microsoft Word, SharePoint, Outlook, Adobe, and other software programs. Participates as a member of various project teams, including radiological emergency response and continuity of operations. Works under general supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:
EJF 1 (40%) Provides administrative and semi-technical support for the Medical and Industrial X-ray, and Laser programs. Reviews incoming actions for assignments and logs in new, renewal and amendment registration actions into the Versa database. Scans and uploads documents into the program’s SharePoint to the appropriate reviewer work folders using correct naming conventions. Works in a digital environment utilizing various programs. Uses Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Adobe and other software programs.
EJF 2 (40%) Answers telephones and monitors general x-ray registration email box on a rotating schedule. Responds to inquiries verbally and in writing in a timely manner and on a continuing basis. Interprets rules and requirements concerning registration policies and application procedures to the regulated community, applicants, agency staff, and to members of the public.
EJF 3. (15%) Generates and mails renewal and expired notification letters and forms monthly for the medical, industrial and laser registration programs. Solicits unregistered facilities that possess radiation machines Participates in the development and/or revision of applications, forms guidance documents and letters. Assists in the development of administrative or technical policies and registration procedures.
EJF 4. (5%) Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation including nuclear emergency response drills, exercises, and actual response to accidents. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.

Registration or Licensure Requirements:

Initial Selection Criteria:
Experience providing customer service
Experience in using Microsoft Office

Additional Information:
1. This position routinely teleworks 3-4 days per week and works in the Austin office 1-2 days per week. Employee must have reliable home internet connection. Employee must have reliable transportation. Employee must be able to work in the office during normal business hours up to 5 days a week during the initial training period.
2. The posted salary range is the full range for this position. Agency salary policy, budget, and candidate’s qualifications will dictate the final salary offer. Typically, salary offers are at or near the midpoint of the range, depending on qualifications or other factors unless the selected applicant is internal in which case a 7% increase may be applied for a promotion or a 3.4% increase may be applied when the selected applicant is in the same salary group but different class title and job code.
