As an Administrative Assistant in Orthopaedic Surgery you will perform routine administrative duties requiring general knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
Primary Functions
- Schedule clinic appointments, ancillary tests and maintain appropriate scheduling information.
- Receive and route incoming clinic phone calls to appropriate area. When necessary, record accurate messages and distribute to appropriate area.
- Responsible for cancelling and rescheduling patients (bump process) as needed for providers. Facilitate provider time off requests and ensure adherence to 30-day bump policy.
- Prepare and compose correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other documents using basic and more advanced functions of computer applications and software packages.
- Gather information needed to compile and prepare reports from multiple sources following a predetermined reporting schedule.
- Coordinate and maintain calendar of events, appointments, meetings, and travel itineraries for assigned staff.
- Maintain records and file system to effectively manage information following regulatory guidelines.
- Respond to various situations in the work of the division or department.
