Rock River Community Clinic is a non-profit community health center that provides cost-effective and comprehensive health care services through three medical clinics located in Whitewater, Watertown, and Jefferson, and one dental clinic located in Fort Atkinson. Purpose of Position:

The Finance Assistant position performs basic accounting support including bookkeeping, financial analysis, audit and budget functions in connection with maintaining the financial records of the Rock River Community Clinic. In addition, the Finance Assistant position also supports day-to-day operational needs of the clinic including assisting in managing employee onboarding and benefit programs, administrative tasks, and organization risk monitoring and compliance with the Financial Director.

Essential Duties:

  • Process Accounts Payable and related duties, including federal and state reports
  • Process Payroll and related duties, including federal and state reports
  • Prepare financial statements for staff and board meetings
  • Work with billing company to record all appropriate revenue and receivable entries
  • Coordinate all financial related audits
  • Assist in managing employee onboarding and benefit programs
  • Administrative task support & donor engagement
  • Assist in reports for FQHC-LAL application, site visit and maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications:

Skills/Abilities

  • Ability and determination to efficiently carry out RRCC’s mission statement.
  • Ability to understand patient attitudes and needs, develop and orient program goals and concepts accordingly, and to work effectively toward their accomplishment with all staff members.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, officials, the public, patients, other private and public health organizational representatives, health care personnel and community groups and organizations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and high stress, maintain personal composure, evaluate situations and act/react appropriately, and use tact in dealing with visitors, patients and difficult situations.
  • Ability to read and respond to emails in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to identify and maintain confidential/HIPPA material.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education

  • 2-year degree in Business/Accounting
  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in Business/Accounting
  • Ability to speak Spanish

Related Work Experience

  • Proficient in Excel, QuickBooks, and other business-related systems
  • At least 1+ years of accounting experience

Working Conditions:

  • Working/Environmental Conditions: Face paced office environment.
  • Machines, Equipment, Tools Used: General office equipment
  • Exposures: No reasonably anticipated exposure to blood, bodily fluids or other potentially infectious materials. No more at risk for communicable diseases of infections than the general public. No reasonably anticipated exposure to hazardous equipment, assorted chemicals, gases/vapors and other pollutants.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): None.
