Garcia Street Club, a 5-Star nonprofit preschool located on Santa Fe's historic eastside since 1945, is looking for a flexible, positive, and professional Administrative Assistant to join our team. This individual will be responsible for providing administrative support as well occasional classroom support on an as-needed basis. For the ideal candidate, his position has the potential to evolve into a full-time Assistant Director position in the near future.
Skills and Qualities Required:
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Valid driver's license
- A love of young children and the desire to support their learning journey
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with children and adults and a diverse group of families
- Knowledge of office machines and their basic maintenance
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Ability to maintain flexibility and work comfortably in a fast-paced setting with shifting priorities and interruptions in a hands-on educational environment
- A strong ability to multi-task and remain positive and focused under pressure
- Proficiency in WordPress is a plus!
- Strong knowledge of child development is a plus!
- Experience with marketing and/or communications is a plus!
The position is 25 hours per week to start with the potential to become a fulltime position in the near future. Tuition assistance and professional development support provided to those who may be interested in continuing in the field of early childhood education.
Responsibilities
Administrative: Answering phones, welcoming families and reception duties, data entry, tracking professional development hours, assisting with professional development trainings, filing and organizing, assisting administrative staff with tours and admissions, staff scheduling, enrollment and waitlist, shopping for supplies, updating website, and providing licensing support through maintenance of staff and student files.
Educational: Covering teachers for breaks and meetings on occasion, engaging with children in a developmentally-appropriate manner using positive guidance techniques, preparing materials for activities, working with young children and teachers to assist in providing a clean, safe, and joyful classroom environment.
A background check and CPR certification are required, but will be paid for by GSC. Please send resume and letter of interest.
