Peoria’s Neighborhood and Community Services is offering an opportunity for a front-line Administrative Assistant to support programs by providing excellent customer service to the public and department staff. In addition to office correspondence and organization, this position also includes the registration for recreation programs, facility booking and general inquiries, both in person and on the phone. Other duties may include completing related tasks, as assigned.

The ideal candidate for this position will be self-motivated and people oriented and will possess:
- Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to de-escalate tense situations, both in person and on the phone.
- Strong computer skills and ability to grasp complex concepts and software functionality quickly.
- Ability to problem solve without supervision.
- The ability and desire to learn and adapt.
- Proven written and oral communication success with staff of all levels.
- Excellent customer service, collaboration and relationship building skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 1-2 years of comparable experience in the same or similar previous position
- License: A valid Arizona Driver’s License is required upon hire
- Experience in a municipal or government setting is preferred
- Experience with call center phone systems
- Experience with cash handling and daily deposits
- A desire to support staff in multiple administrative facets throughout a varied department
