Job Title
Adjunct Instructor Pool - Kinesiology
Position Summary
Designs and delivers instruction in undergraduate courses offered by the Department of Kinesiology (as instructor education and experience allows), including but not limited to: courses in exercise science, physical education teacher preparation, recreation administration, first aid and safety, and activity/fitness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares lessons and delivers instruction.
- Adheres to the faculty handbook and faculty guide.
- Meets classes for the required time and days in accordance with policies established for class schedule.
- Submits attendance, grades and other required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
Please list area of expertise (i.e.. activity, exercise physiology, biomechanics, pedagogy, sport management) under school major.
Education, Certifications and/or Licenses
- Master's Degree required: Earned Master's Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or related field or 18 Hours of course work in Kinesiology from an accredited institution.
- Activity courses may require specialized instructor certification. (ie. yoga, martial arts, scuba, WSI)
Experience
- Prior teaching experience and experience in the subject matter is preferred.

- Ability to use discretion in handling confidential and sensitive issues, FERPA.

- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and/or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, students, and University employees.
- Ability to calculate figures & amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, & volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, calculus and statistics.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
