SalaryThe University of Houston-Downtown Department of Urban Education is seeking applications for adjunct Field Experience Instructors. This is a part-time position with a 3-credit hour teaching load per regular semester with students in the BAIS-Interdisciplinary Studies degree program (a 6 hr. course load may be possible). The candidate is expected to participate in the department’s field-based program supervising the fieldwork component for students in various certification programs (EC-6, 4-8, and 7-12). Candidates must have flexible daytime availability to conduct field-based observations.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with campus personnel in local independent school districts partnering with the department
- Teaches face-to-face meetings in support of fieldwork in which students are engaged
- Provides online support to students engaged in fieldwork experiences
- Observes students teaching lessons on a partner campus and provide verbal and written feedback
- Be available to observe students teaching lessons during normal school hours
- Holds a current valid Texas Educator certification
- Minimum of an earned Master’s Degree
- Candidate is expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
- A current Texas Mid-Management or Principal’s Certificate
- Administration experience in public schools
