Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, a private institution located in Provo, Utah, invites applications from qualified, passionate, nurse practitioners seeking an Adjunct Faculty position in a post-master’s PMHNP certificate program. Faculty members of the Nursing program have academic, instruction, service, practice and/or scholarship responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the program. Faculty members participate in university governance and assist the program director to plan, coordinate, facilitate, administer, and monitor all activities related to the program. Faculty members report directly to the Dean of the College of Nursing.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Include:
Communication
- Maintain optimal communication with administration, faculty, students and community partners regarding university and program initiatives
Student Instruction and Curriculum Management
- Participate in Nursing program curriculum and course design, assessment, and evaluation
- Participate in Nursing student admission, progression, and advisement activities
- Prepare class materials using best practices in higher education and graduate nursing practice
- Provide direct student instruction in online, on-site, and clinical settings
Governance
- Initiate, adopt, evaluate and advance the Nursing program’s mission, goals and program outcomes
- Provide opportunity for students and peers to evaluate teaching effectiveness
- Evaluate and recommend faculty members for promotion
- Participate in all regularly scheduled Nursing meetings and other University events
Scholarship and/or Practice
- Engage in scholarly activities commensurate with appointment and rank
- Maintain a clinical practice commensurate with licensure and appropriate for appointment and rank
Leadership and Service
- Serve on program, university, state, and national committees that are appropriate for their rank and experience
- Participate in professional and community activities for the purpose of bringing education, service, and research together for the improvement of health care delivery
- Accept opportunities for membership on standing and ad-hoc committees of the program and University as elected or appointed

Minimum Requirements (no specific order)
- Earned doctoral degree
- Active APRN nursing license
- Able to work with students, faculty/staff with special needs based on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Able to participate in all aspects of peer review and shared governance
- Demonstrate knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal, and practice issues affecting contemporary graduate nursing education
- Able to pass a criminal background search prior to commencement of employment
Preferred Requirements (no specific order)
- Active PMHNP license
- Active in professional nursing organizations at local, state, and/or national levels
- Recent nursing teaching degree/certificate OR Minimum of 2 years of recent university-level teaching
- Two or more years of recent practice as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) experience
- Current certification as a nurse practitioner or clinical specialist
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving skills
- Administrative experience in academic governance and/or clinical practice
- Demonstrated ability to design and conduct independent and/or collaborative research
- Able to work both independently and as an interdisciplinary team member
- Able to travel, as needed
