Description
We are currently looking for an energetic and skilled Occupational Therapy Professional to join our team at Joyce University. This adjunct position is a fully remote position. Candidate will need to be available to teach at least Tuesdays from 3:30pm to 5:30pm MT via live zoom. The job of an adjunct faculty member at Joyce University has several dimensions or roles. The primary roles are to provide the highest level of instruction, quality training and education to the students; to provide input for revision, development, and implementation of the curricula that is designed to meet program outcomes, accreditation standards, and reflects contemporary health care trends; and to support and uphold the Universities policies, procedures, and objectives within the instructional setting by upholding the mission of the University.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure that all course materials, including syllabi, are modified and prepared to meet course objectives, accreditation and formatting guidelines
  • Coordinate learning activities with adjunct faculty assigned to course
  • Facilitate the learning process using a variety of styles to accommodate various learning modes of students
  • Meet daily and weekly objectives and competencies through a variety of learning methods, including lectures, activities, handouts, role-play, guest speakers, etc.
  • Conduct proficiency examinations and competency evaluations using a variety of evidence-based strategies to assess and evaluate student learning
  • Identify, advise and remediate students with behavioral and academic deficiencies
  • Maintain student academic, attendance, and advisement records in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure all student grades are reported in a timely manner
  • Perform substitute instruction or other educational related assignments when required
  • Ensure that the learning environment is maintained in a neat and orderly manner and that all equipment is kept in good, serviceable repair and stored properly
  • Assist with supply accountability and ordering as needed
  • Submit suggestions and support data for approval of course revisions to curriculum committee
  • Maintain integrity of curricular offerings
  • Maintain professional memberships in AOTA and UOTA

Requirements
Required Education
Bachelors Degree in OT/OTA
Preferred education
Masters Degree
Required Licensure
Must be licensed as OT/OTA in State of Utah
Required clinical experience
2-3 years
