The Groves is a personalized retirement home located, in a large renovated Victorian Home, on Main Street in downtown Ephrata. The Groves accommodates a limited number of seniors (14-17) in a bed and breakfast setting.
The Groves is seeking a part-time (10-20 hours per week) Activity Coordinator - Office Assistant that will develop programs that promote resident to resident, family, and community involvement. The goal of The Groves is to keep our senior resident independent and part of the community.
- Ideal Schedule would be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
- Additional hours as needed on weekends.
- This Candidate must love working with seniors, be upbeat, outgoing and full of energy.
- Candidate would work with Manager or Administrator to create, plan, organize, implement, and direct activities. Activities will support the resident’s physical, social, emotional, and recreational needs. Activities may be group or individual based.
- Activities include, Holiday and seasonal celebrations, holiday decorating (including set-up and tear down), birthday celebrations, games, music, crafts, sewing, current events, movies, storytelling, cooking, pet therapy, reminiscing, walks, field trips, manicures, letter and card writing, stretching, dance, sewing, etc.
- Candidate would work with local churches, scout groups, social clubs, non-profits, etc.
- Candidate would design, create, and print a monthly activity calendar for all residents
- Candidate will have flexibility in work schedule but must ensure that all activities are implemented and planned. Ideal Candidate would have the ability to come for short time periods as to meet outside groups when visiting.
- Candidate would work with residents to purchase items needed.
- Activities are best attended between 10 am and 12 noon, 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm and 6:15 pm to 7:30 pm
- Candidate would assist with serving and clean-up of lunch meal.
- Candidate would be responsible for kitchen clean-up of activity events.
- Candidate would also work with Administrator and Manager on office duties. These duties would include updating resident records, maintaining house folders, invoicing, banking, scheduling appointments, e-mail, correspondence, Quick books and office.
- Candidate would assist manger with scheduling and transporting residents to doctor appointments.
- Ideal Candidate would have knowledge of Social Media,
- Ability to use Microsoft Office.
- Must have valid driver's license.
- If Candidate wishes, additional hours are available as a Homemaker-Care Provider or Med Tech-Care Provider
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.50 per hour
