We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Coordinator to join our team. As an Activity Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities for our residents. Your role will involve promoting social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical well-being. Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a diverse range of activities to meet the needs and interests of our residents
- Coordinate and facilitate group activities such as games, crafts, exercise classes, and outings
- Provide one-on-one support to residents who require additional assistance or have specific needs
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a comprehensive activity calendar
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress
- Assist in planning and organizing special events and celebrations
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents during activities
- Stay up-to-date with current trends in aging issues counseling, memory care, recreational therapy, social work, and caregiving
Skills:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members
- Excellent organizational skills to manage schedules and coordinate activities
- Knowledge of aging issues counseling and memory care techniques
- Experience in recreational therapy or related field is preferred
- Understanding of ADLs (Activities of Daily Living) and their impact on resident engagement
- Ability to plan and execute events that cater to the specific needs of nursing home residents
- Compassion and patience when working with older adults
- Creative problem-solving skills to adapt activities based on individual abilities and preferences
