Come and join our team! At Allegiant of Mesa you will have the opportunity to work with high acuity short-term rehab patients, long-term care patients, memory care patients, and behavioral patients. We are currently seeking two customer oriented Activities Assistants to add to our team of professionals.
As an important member of our interdisciplinary team, the Activities Assistant is responsible for having an energetic upbeat personality, is compassionate, caring, creative and enjoys working with the elderly to assist in running activities in a skilled nursing facility.
Duties Include: Your role with involve:
- Organizing and leading therapeutic recreational programming to enhance residents physical and emotional well-being.
- Providing support and guidance in memory care, dementia, and behavioral programs.
- Interviewing and conducting activity assessments.
- Collaborates with the caregiving team ensuring participation in scheduled programs.
- Documenting and meeting deadlines.
- Recording attendance at programs.
- Distribute and read mail to residents as needed.
- Decorating activity boards.
- Set up, coordinate, lead groups, and conduct one-on-one activities.
- Assist with activity calendar planning.
- Assists with activity outings as needed.
- Creating activity flyers.
Experience: To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess:
- Experience in caregiving or a related field, particularly in senior care.
- Familiarity with memory care, dementia care, and behavioral care practices.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff members.
- Knowledge of aging issues and recreational therapy techniques (ideal)
- Computer skills
