Clatsop Care Health & Rehabilitation Center of Astoria, OR is currently hiring for a full-time Activities Directorfor our skilled nursing facility. You will plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct life enrichment and recreational therapy activity programs for residents and their families. This activities position works a full-time schedule and earns a competitive wage of $20.00 -$27.71/hour. We are human services industry leaders and believe that hard work can be fun.

REQUIREMENTS FOR AN ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR

As an Activities & Life Enrichment Director, you work to assure that our residents' spiritual, emotional, recreational, and social needs are met and maintained. With attention to detail and productivity, you also coordinate community groups to provide organized and safe experiences for everyone. You seek to provide recreational therapy and other services including being in charge of resident's healing garden. You assess individual needs and ensure that activities are provided that will meet those needs. You are effective at communicating needs with occupational therapists, nurses, certified nursing assistants and other staff members to ensure support.

Scheduling outings for our residents is another part of what you do. You serve as a van driver (no special license required) for outings and ensure that the van is kept clean and maintained. As you stay aware of community events in the area, you communicate to those in your care about these additional options to be involved in the community.

Using your self-motivation and leadership skills, you develop and chair an activity committee. This committee is composed of residents, staff, volunteers, and families that will plan daily, weekly, and seasonal events. You are dedicated to recruiting and maintaining the volunteer program and work with our Auxiliary Group. At the end of the day, you feel accomplished knowing you have such a positive impact on our residents and their families!

  • Meets one of the state requirements for being an Activities Director in a Skilled Nursing Facility (Answer job questions.)
  • Ability to obtain a valid Oregon food handlers card
  • Heart for working with seniors
