Click the link here to see a full list of our current U.S. Office Locations:nbsp;https://www.bv.com/offices/.nbsp;nbsp;Be sure to select the quot;Americas#39; region and quot;United Statesquot; as the country.nbsp;/ppnbsp;/ppstrongJob Summary:/strong/ppThe Acoustics amp; Noise Control Specialist is involved in all aspects of acoustical design and Noise Control engineering to support the broad scope of global Black amp; Veatch projects in the areas of power generation (conventional and renewable), data centers, petrochemical, electric transmission and distribution, water supply, wastewater treatment, and telecommunications.nbsp;nbsp;The Acoustics amp; Noise Control Services group supports all phases of projects including siting, permitting, independent engineering, engineering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.nbsp;The Acoustics amp; Noise Control Specialist coordinates directly with project managers, proposal managers, chief engineers, and project design engineers from all divisions and businesses within Black amp; Veatch as well as with clients, facility owners, and equipment manufacturers.nbsp;/ppnbsp;/ppstrongKey Responsibilities:nbsp;/strong/pulliSupport project owners in identifying and mitigating risk associated with environmental noise and industrial Noise Control./liliWork with a dynamic team within an established global infrastructure consulting and engineering company.nbsp;/liliJoin Black amp; Veatchrsquo;s Environmental practice to work with a team of professionals focused on ensuring environmental stewardship for our clients./liliFunctions in a mid level consultant or specialist capacity./liliResponsible for performing all aspects of conventional consulting assessments and technical analyses./liliBroadens knowledge and skill set in practice area./liliMay start to expand knowledge in other practice areas./liliDemonstrates capabilities with moderate supervision./liliProduction: Coordinates and prepares studies of moderate complexity within practice area. Participates in multiple studies or projects simultaneously. May lead or coordinate field studies and project site visits./liliCoordination: Assigns tasks to and coordinates with other practice area team members. Initiates contact with other project team members (internal/external) as needed. Actively seeks to understand client interests through client contact and interaction with project leadership./liliCapability: Readily identifies project risks and issues, and develops recommended solutions on study assignments./liliKnowledge: Provides professional judgment based on industry knowledge in discussing ideas and seeking necessary approvals. May mentor and train others./liliBusiness: Provides support to business development or pursuit./liliEnvironmental Assessments: Perform noise impact studies to support the siting, permitting, and licensing of new facilities.nbsp;These efforts include reviewing noise regulations, conducting ambient noise surveys, modeling facility noise emissions, evaluating potential community impacts, determining necessary mitigation, preparing required reports and documentation, supporting licensing efforts through agency and public review, and providing expert testimony as necessary.nbsp;/liliAcoustical Design: Perform acoustical design studies to support project engineering, procurement, and construction activities.nbsp;Develop equipment sound level specifications and mitigation requirements to ensure compliance with the design objectives while maintaining a cost-effective facility design.nbsp;Prepare test protocols and perform noise emissions performance tests to demonstrate compliance with all regulatory and contractual requirements.nbsp;/li/ulpnbsp;/ppstrongPreferred Qualifications/strong/pulliBS or MS degree in engineering or science; specialization in acoustics and/or Noise Control preferred.
