Responsibilities:
1. Machine Setups and Production Machining: prepare and set up CNC machines, including loading tools, fixtures, and workpieces, and ensuring that all necessary parameters are correctly input into the machine's control system.
2. Programming: develop or modify CNC programs based on specifications by CAM software or G & M codes. This involves creating tool paths, specifying cutting speeds, feeds, and depths, and optimizing the machining process for efficiency and accuracy.
3. Tooling Selection: select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and tool holders based on the material being machined and the required tolerances. Properly install and secure tools in the machine's tool turret or holder.
4. Workpiece Alignment: accurately position and align workpieces using precision measuring instruments like dial indicators, micrometers, and gauges. This ensures that the workpiece is properly located and oriented for accurate machining.
5. Machine Calibration: perform regular calibration checks on CNC machines to ensure that they are operating within specified tolerances. Adjust machine parameters as needed to maintain accuracy and precision.
6. Troubleshooting: identify and troubleshoot issues related to tool wear, machine malfunctions, and programming errors. Make necessary adjustments or corrections to maintain the quality of the machined parts.
7. Quality Control: monitor machining operations to ensure that parts are being produced according to the required specifications and quality standards. Perform in-process inspections and measurements to verify accuracy and adherence to tolerances.

9. Safety and Maintenance: adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with CNC machines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE.) Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting machines to ensure their proper functioning.
10. Collaboration: work closely with engineers, programmers, and production managers to ensure that manufacturing processes are optimized for efficiency and quality. Communicate andy issues or concerns that may affect production timelines.
