Accreditation Specialist
Rasmussen University
The Accreditation Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining various programmatic accreditations as well as institutional accreditation responsibilities. The specialist will collaborate with other departments and programmatic leaders to prepare accreditation filings, create and compile accreditation reports, and review curriculum from an accreditation perspective. The specialist will manage accreditation projects to completion, as well as assist in preparations and hosting of site visits. Strong written and verbal communication skills, project management skills, technical writing skills, and research and analytical skills are required.
Responsibilities:
The Accreditation Specialist will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with and project management of other departments, campuses, and programs throughout the University in order to draft applications, self-study reports, annual reports, etc. that are accurate and complete. (30-50%)
- Technical writing of project deliverables such as self-study reports, substantive changes, annual reports, and any other requested documents by external accreditors. (20-40%)
- Collaborating with campus personnel and programmatic leaders to prepare for and host accreditation site visits. (20%)
- Conducting research and analysis of accreditation rules in order to maintain compliance with each accreditor and ensuring key stakeholders understand the accreditation process, standards, and expectations. Maintaining good relationships with programmatic accreditors and other external contacts. (10%)
Other duties as assigned and required.
Reporting Relationships:
The Accreditation Specialist will report to the Assistant Vice President of Accreditation and Regulatory.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Ability to research and interpret accreditor’s standards, criteria, and elements.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and technical writing skills
- Must be detail oriented, organized, able to multi-task, and keep thorough and accurate records
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to create and maintain good working relationships
- Able to see projects through from start to completion, and to meet firm deadlines
- Strong project management skills and ability to work with others to ensure deadlines are met.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and able to pivot quickly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Adobe (PDF)
