- Primarily days, 8 or 9 hour shifts

What you will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Management or health-related field
- Minimum 3 years working in the healthcare industry
- Experience with project management, healthcare compliance and or regulatory activities a plus

Job Description:
The Accreditation Specialist, under the direction of department leadership, provides management and staff expert advice and tools to assess, meet and sustain requirements and process improvements for healthcare accreditations and certifications. Leads or manages projects to support accreditation, certification and state/federal regulatory surveys and activities for Gundersen Health System to include Joint Commission accredited locations, critical access hospitals, rural health clinics, medical clinics, and long-term care facilities.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Serves as an expert resource and provides interpretive guidance regarding application of hospital in/outpatient, behavioral health, hospice and homecare, disease-specific certification standards and regulatory processes.
2. Gathers information from regulatory and survey resources to communicate national trends and lessons learned for application at Gundersen Health System.
3. Utilizes project planning and management skills to develop, lead and monitor compliance processes, such as tracers, walkthroughs, and standards review.
4. Assists with finalization of formal corrective action responses to accrediting agencies.
5. Fosters positive relationships with organizational leaders while collaborating to identify and resolve areas of non-compliance.
6. Participates in analyzing patient incidents and unsafe practices/conditions and provides recommendations for proactive solutions based on regulatory guidance.
7. Analyzes data, previous survey findings and corrective action plans and utilizes key components in the development, implementation, monitoring and sustaining of regulatory compliance.
8. Develops and implements an organizational communication and education plan for Joint Commission accreditation to include tool kits, education, and reference/resource materials
9. Is proficient in use of Accreditation Manager Plus (AMP) software program to train and support internal application users.
10. Assists with development and maintenance of department website. .
11. Performs other job-related responsibilities as requested
Education and Learning:
REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or Information Management or a health -related field
Work Experience:
REQUIRED
3 years minimum experience working in the healthcare industry.
DESIRED
2 years project management experience; experience with healthcare compliance and regulatory activities
