We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company's receivables, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, collaborating with internal departments to resolve any billing issues, and overseeing the collections process. Responsibilities:
- Generate and send out accurate and timely customer invoices.
- Follow up on overdue payments and manage collections using effective strategies.
- Implement and manage an efficient collections process to minimize outstanding debts.
- Assess and analyze customer creditworthiness to establish credit limits.
- Negotiate and establish repayment plans with customers.
- Work closely with the legal department for escalated collections cases.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records.
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve customer inquiries.
- Prepare and analyze reports related to Accounts Receivable and collections.
- Research discrepancies, credits and other issues and communicate with customers as well as the accounting team.
- Assist in month-end closing procedures.
- Perform other accounting related administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus
- Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace and Quickbooks software.
- Experience with ERP systems a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
- Adaptable, with a problem solving mentality and strong sense of initiative.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
