Position Summary
The accounting clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of Accounts Payable functions.
Responsibilities:
1. Works with the controller and members of the management team in resolving branch Accounts Payables problems.
2. Accurately processes invoices and check requests including auditing for accuracy, proper authorization, and completeness of supporting documentation.
3. Assigns invoice account distributions in accordance with the chart of accounts.
4. Alerts appropriate management team members regarding late or missing documents required for Accounts Payable.
5. Processes and prints Accounts Payable checks and submits them to the controller for review and approval.
6. Assists in the preparation of monthly Accounts Payable reports.
7. Maintains complete and accurate Accounts Payable records.
8. Assists with the preparation of 1099 forms.
9. Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with employees and other customers.
10. Maintains the confidentiality of employee and organization information at all times.
11. Performs other specific projects relating to, data entry, and information system operations as required.
12. Use the CMS/Palmetto payment schedules to price medical claims received by Vendors.
13. Complete setup and maintenance of company credit cards for employees.

Qualifications:
1. At least (2) two years experience in health care data entry, preferably in hospice care systems.
2. At least one (1) year of previous health care related Accounts Payable experience, preferably in hospice care.
3. Able to use IBM-compatible systems and equipment.
4. Is a high school graduate or equivalent, two (2) years college preferred.

Environmental and Working Conditions:Will work in agency office Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. May work beyond normal working hours, weekends, and holidays as needed and in other positions temporarily as necessary.
