Job Description
The Accounts Payable Clerk II is a temporary position (3-6 months).
The Account Payable Clerk II maintain general accounting systems, such as: preparing journal entries and invoices; and maintaining Accounts Payable files. Works on various accounting projects. This is a hands-on position. Works under supervision.
- Maintains general accounting systems and reports, including preparing journal entries, invoices, and Accounts Payable files.
- Maintains vendor records in the accounting system.
- Enters AP transactions into accounting system
- Reconciles invoices to purchase orders and packing slips and processes invoices in accounting system.
- Process weekly payments by check, wire and ACH
- Participates in the monthly close.
- Ensures that Accounts Payable activities are executed accurately and efficiently. Provides assistance with check processing and 1099 processing
- Distributes the incoming mail and ensure all employees have mailboxes.
- Provides support on all audits and reviews; may provide support for any filings
- Minimum of 3 years of Accounts Payable experience
- Demonstrated working experience with variance reporting and analysis, and Accounts Payable processing and Accounts Payable payments.
- Proficient using various software, including MSOffice [especially Excel], and accounting software [i.e. NetSuite]
- Excellent detail orientation with a solid track record of maintaining accurate records
- Excellent planning, organizational, and follow up skills to ensure deadlines are met
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal) Ability to interact with all levels of management, both internal and external
- Must be able to work with confidential information and possesses strong business judgment
- Strong analytical skills
