Accounts Payable Analyst

Offers will be based on experience similar to the Port job being applied for as well as a review of pay rates for Port employees performing similar work. Salary ranges are under review and subject to change.
As an Accounts Payable Analyst, you will be responsible for executing comprehensive fraud prevention review through vigorous authentication and validation practices to detect fraud and prevent loss of public funds.
- You will facilitate the collection, organization, and review of required documents for new supplier’s set-up and change requests.
- You will perform and document the authentication, validation, and analytical review of Supplier information to detect and prevent loss of public funds and to maintain data integrity of Supplier Master File.
- You will audit Supplier Master Files to identify operational deficiencies and risks.
- You will adhere to Accounting Financial Reporting department’s policies related to supplier management and follow standardize process for on-boarding new suppliers and managing supplier updates.
- You will be responsible to set-up and document supplier’s tax classification for accuracy and completeness for tax reporting, including international suppliers. You will assist Accounts Payable Lead on annual 1099 tax reporting.
- You will resolve supplier and internal customer inquiries related to supplier set-up. You will develop and maintain working relationship with suppliers and operational personnel.
- You will assist Travel and Expense Card Administrator with expense reports review. You will provide backup to Accounts Payable Lead and Accounts Payable Specialist, as needed.
- You will perform other duties as assigned.
- Experienced – You have four (4) years of progressive experience in high paced Accounting/Financial environments and two (2) years of experience in Supplier Management and/or Accounts Payable.
- Desired – We hope you have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting.

- Knowledgeable – You have knowledge of and proficiency with complex accounting/payment systems, especially Accounts Payable and vendor management systems, including queries, and functional knowledge of system. You have knowledge of intermediate internal controls over supplier management and payment processing, including cyber fraud prevention.

- Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role.
- Work Environment - This work will take place in a hybrid remote/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.
- Grade Review – The pay range and grade for non-represented positions are under review and subject to change as part of the Port’s work to implement a new pay program. This review is intended to ensure that positions are aligned with the new program that will be implemented in early 2024.
- Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
