Job Description
- We are hiring a Temporary Accounting Technician I to work in the Finance Department of a company in the city of Costa Mesa.
- Temporary Accounting Technician I to work in the Financial Services Department.
- The Temporary Accounting Technician I will work with the Senior Accounting Technician to execute Accounts Payable for the District.
- This is an on-site, part-time assignment for an estimated duration of 6 months.
- The position will be expected to work 30 hours/week between the hours of 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Exact hours are flexible and dependent upon candidate availability.
Pay range $27.07 to $29.15 hourly DOE.
Ideal Candidates will have:
- Accounts payable experience
- Public-sector experience (e.g., Public Utility, City, County, School District, etc.)
- Thorough attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Experience providing excellent customer service
- Processes initial approval process for accounts payable; enters receiving documents and invoices into accounts payable module, verifies accuracy of invoices, packing slips, purchase orders, and inventory orders; resolves discrepancies; obtains documentation/signatures as necessary to ensure proper approval and verification has been met to pay all invoices.
- Enters data into Great Plains
- Prepares, maintains, and/or verifies a variety of accounting, financial, and statistical records, ledgers, logs, and files.
- Gathers and organizes data to assist staff in the preparation of reports and recommendations.
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
- College level course work in bookkeeping, accounting, business administration, or a related field is desirable.
