Accounting Specialist

Are you looking for a part-time position that allows you to apply your accounts payable/accounts receivable expertise, high level of organization, and attention to detail? We would love to have you join our highly respected accounting team! Candidates should combine a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and AP/AR principles, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team setting are key skills for this position. Candidates must have at least 3 years of previous experience working in an accounting department, and an Associate's Degree is preferred.
Who We Are:
The Hord family is in its 5th generation of family farming, with over 100 years of farming heritage. Located in North Central Ohio, Hord Farms is a pig, cow, and grain farm, striving to raise our animals with care, and utilizing modern and advanced farming practices to be efficient and sustainable.
A Day in the Life:

• 25-30hours/week, Monday-Friday
• Allocate all data entry for payables and receivables and reconcile monthly vendor statements
• Balance bank statements and prepare deposits daily
• Plan daily cash flow
• Work in conjunction with the administrative specialist as needed

What You Need:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience and general knowledge of AP/AR, or related accounting functions
• Experience with Microsoft Office programming
• Excellent verbal and written communication as well as analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
• A customer-service orientation-ready to bring patience and positivity each day
• Proven record of reliability and a desire to excel
• No contact with pigs outside the Hord herd
