Position Summary
We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to organize and coordinate office operations and procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness, efficiency and safety. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Bookkeeping and handling a wide range of administrative and executive support related tasks and will be able to work independently with little or no supervision. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting an office.
Responsibilities:
· The Accounting Specialist is responsible for driving results in a fast-paced environment in the functional areas of accounts receivables, accounts payables, general ledger, and payroll, as well as in other accounting areas in line with our established guidelines.
· Oversee the timely processing of bi-weekly payroll. Analyze, process adjustments, record journal entries and ensure payroll data is accurate. Interact with HR, facilitate and provide oversight.
· Prepare bank reconciliations in a timely manner.
· Process A/P with AP Specialist. Analyze accounts to maintain A/P system for accuracy and completeness.
· Prepare bank deposits using remote scanner and record journal entries.
· Support monthly reconciliation and analysis of the sub-legers to the associated General Ledger balances and provide analysis in variances in accounts.
· Process payroll related data for 401k contributions
· Maintain Employee PTO records
· Other accounting and administrative duties will be assigned to provide professional support the daily operation and day to day needs. The Accounting Specialist will contribute analytical, managerial, and strategical support in addition to everyday tasks.
· Act as primary back-up to AP Specialist during absences. This will include knowledge of processing all AP functions.
· Contribute to maintenance and updating of policies and procedures.
· Cleaning, Office, misc order placements and management
· AP Specialist and Accounting Specialist work together as an Office Admin Team. Cross training and assisting one another in the day to day as a High Functioning Team.
Required Skills/Qualifications
· 3+ years of working experience as a full-charge bookkeeper
· Bachelor s degree in accounting preferred or relevant experience
· Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, ability to follow-up on multiple issues and be deadline driven
· Strong communication skills (verbal, written), incl. presentation skills
· Effective problem-solving skills
· Ability to influence, lead and use relationship-building skills
· Must be proficient in Excel. Strong knowledge of other Microsoft Office products required
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
